Connecting a ‘lost generation’

Clippet News was founded by two young graduates who believe traditional journalism is failing to connect with a ‘lost generation’ of young people. The Clippet app provides short audio ‘clippets’ of news you can listen to on the move and at your desk. Or in their own words: ‘Clippet dissects, distils and delivers your world into concentrated audio shots of need-to-know news.’

Sounding board

When founders James and Grace first came to us they had a concept, a bold ambition and initial investment. We worked with them over several months to turn their ideas into a fully defined business, service and brand. We helped them challenge and develop their original plans and guided them through the launch phase. We also brought in writer Tim Rich and radio producer Becky Jacobs as advisers.

A fresh voice

Our design work for Clippet has ranged from the brand identity through to designing and prototyping the app, establishing the look and feel for the website, and producing brand guidelines. We’ve also continued to advise and support the team post-launch. It’s a tough job for a young start-up to redefine the news-reporting model, but we believe they should be heard.

Time for a change in direction

A little update from us at Fivefootsix. 

The fast pace of running Fivefootsix hasn’t given us much time to stop and properly think about the future. However, celebrating our tenth anniversary this year presented an opportunity to both reflect and to look forward. And, after a hugely exciting journey, we’ve taken the decision to bring our current agency operations to a close, allowing us to end things on a high, and turn our attentions to new challenges ahead.

Although we’re sad to say goodbye to Fivefootsix, we are also incredibly proud of what we’ve been able to achieve in that time, and the calibre of clients we’ve worked with. Brands like BBC Children in Need, Ben & Jerry’s, Birley, UEFA and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), as well as our own projects, like The Art of Ping Pong, which will continue to develop.

Most importantly, the last ten years would not have been possible without the support of the hugely talented Fivefootsix team, both past and present.

Thanks to everyone who’s joined us on the journey and been part of that success. Hopefully we’ll have the chance to work with many of you again in the future.
